New blog features "Gonzo Loves..." playlists

Has anyone noticed that "Gonzo Loves..." is now on every night? Well, it is. Either at midnight or 1am. Those shows beginning at 1am are ad-free. It is no replacement for 120 Minutes, it's just not the same thing. Unlike 120 Minutes, Gonzo Loves... will only ever show you the newest stuff, no classics, no late discoveries. On the other hand, Gonzo Loves... does show some of the rubbish you were really safe from when watching 120 Minutes. But then, it's the best we've got right now on MTV TWO. The hottest new videos are first (sometimes only) on Gonzo Loves...

With Gonzo Loves... on every night now, I created a sibling to this blog: find the playlists of every show* since GL came on nightly, which happened on 6th September, on "The Other Night on Gonzo Loves..."

(* except 12th September, which went missing due to technical difficulties. And there was no edition on 15th September, due to the MTV VMAs.)

You want 120 Minutes back? Put the message on your Facebook profile!

I have put together a Facebook application: "BRING BACK 120 MINUTES" will let you add a box to your profile page, which can display your comment on the situation. To add some social networking to it, you can configure it to display comments of your friends or anyone else. It also shows a link to the online petition, and if you wish, it displays the number of signatures on it.

So to keep yourself and your friends up to date... add "BRING BACK 120 MINUTES" to your Facebook profile!

The online petition has passed the 500 mark!

Hi, everyone!

The online petition "Keep 120 Minutes on MTV2" has surpassed the number of 500 signatures. Have a look at the page, and you will not only see that the list of supporters has become rather long. The comments that many of the signers left there with their virtual signature are at least as impressive.

So go and spread the word for the good cause. And if you haven't done so already, sign the petition! It's on tinyurl.com/120minutes.

Don't miss the last ever show of 120 Minutes. Tonight on MTV TWO.

That's right, folks. Tonight's gonna be the last time we can watch this fabulous show. At least if we can believe the programme listings.

I do hope that 120 Minutes will come back at some point. With the same name or another. Let's wait for the return of an eclectic music mix on MTV TWO...

120 Minutes is going to be history very, very soon

For all fanatics of 120 Minutes there is some devastating news on the 120 Minutes discussion board. See: here.

Looks like the edition on the eve of the 31st of January will be the last edition of 120 Minutes ever! How bad is this? I wish the MTV TWO people would get some echo for their decision to drop 120 Minutes. They are going to take their best (in terms of diversity, eclecticity) programme off air.

You can contact MTV on their website (http://www.mtv.co.uk/contact). Choose "Comments about our programming" as category. "120 Minutes" would make a good subject. Then write a kind message, expressing your disappointment that 120 Minutes is going to be taken off the air.

This is what I am going to do right now. I doubt that this is gonna change something, but at least I will have let them know what I am thinking. If some more people did the same, it would certainly not harm.

Just wanted to say cheers to the people who posted comments on the playlists with corrections and remarks. They are highly appreciated and I will eventually put the info into the database and correct the main posts. Haven't got the time for it now. Anyway the comments are for everyone to see, so it's not terribly important that I correct the main posts.

120 Minutes is gonna be back tonight!

After a christmas and new year break, 120 Minutes is going to be on the air again, tonight at 1am. Let's see whether there are going to be some new additions to the playlist. The last couple of weeks, with the "Best of 2008" editions, there was hardly any brand new material on. Or maybe, MTV TWO continues to air "Best of 2008" shows for a while. The stuff they showed was ace, no doubt about it, but as a fan of 120 Minutes, you are always greedy for the hot new shit, ain't you? Let's see what the new year brings us. Whether it be tonight or in a week or so from now... If the hot new stuff in 2009 is going to be as great as what we saw last year, well, 120 Minutes people... bring it on then!

I just uploaded the playlists of 594 editions of 120 Minutes of the past two years. This is for all the 120 Minutes enthusiasts out there. Thanks to the magic of the internet (feeds and such), and recently also the magic of optical character recognition, I have been able to collect these data. The data is by no means complete or free of errors. But I do my very best...

I hope, some of you guys like this blog. I have seen some posts of people in forums, asking for 120 Minutes playlists, or posting a few of them. So I guess, there should be some people who have use for this.
